We’re pleased to invite you to ABC’s virtual Annual General Meeting and to hear an outstanding Keynote Speaker, who is very knowledgeable and experienced in supporting the intellectual, social, and emotional development of bright and gifted children and adolescents.

Dr. Louise Porter is a child psychologist based in Australia, who specializes in supporting children’s emotional, social and developmental needs. With a Masters degree in Gifted Education and a Doctorate in children's behaviour, she brings 40 years of experience to the topic of supporting bright and gifted learners. She also has a wide range of publications, including a book and a DVD on giftedness.

In this presentation, Dr. Porter will describe some of the emotional challenges experienced by bright and gifted learners, and how to safeguard their self-esteem, meet their social needs, and minimize anxiety. Her guiding principle is that when we understand and support young people's emotional and social needs, we honour and validate who they are, and embolden them to fulfill their mission in life.

This virtual, live video presentation will be on Sunday, March 7, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., It will also include an opportunity to ask Dr. Porter questions after her presentation.
