Who Can Join?

Membership is open to anyone interested in the needs of bright and gifted children. We do not test children, nor do we require "proof" that they are bright.

ABC believes that all children, including bright children, deserve to be accepted for who they are. They deserve the opportunity to realize their potential as fully as possible.

ABC is interested in the special needs of all bright and gifted children, regardless of linguistic or socio-economic background.

How To Join

Simply fill out the online registration form here to set up a free ABC Ontario membership. You will then receive an email which will direct you to activate your registration.

The user name, password and email address which you use to register will be linked so if you forget your password a new one can be sent to your email address.

Previously, the annual family or individual membership fee was $40.00. In order to connect more individuals and families to the resources they need, ABC Ontario decided in May 2008 to waive its $40 membership fee on a trial basis until August 2009. Although this facilitates outreach, it also increases reliance on donations. As an essentially volunteer organization, ABC depends on donations in order to accomplish its goals.

If you are already an ABC member, you only need to set up a user name and password to fully access all the features of our new website, register for conferences, etc.

NOTE: you cannot use a password and username that were previously set up just for ABC message board access to access the new website.

Existing ABC members will need to:

Go to the registration form at the hotlink above
Look up your current membership account
If a match is found, note the preassigned username (Sorry, existing members must use the username that the system has assigned.)
Request a password using the "Lost Password" link
Retrieve the randomly assigned password at the email address on file with ABC Ontario
Log in using the system generated username and randomly assigned password
You will then be able to update your membership account including changing your password, email address etc.

If an exisiting ABC member either does not have an email address on file, or is not able to check for email at the address that is on file with ABC Ontario, then you will not be able to retrieve a password to work with your preassigned username. In this case, please send an email to membership@abcontario.ca indicating the email address you would like to add to your file before attempting to set up a username / login.

In order to stay informed about the latest news in gifted education, please always keep your email address on file with ABC Ontario up to date.
